Mathruvedi is an association which maintains a strong communion of mothers in our parish. Mathruvedi primarily focuses on enabling the mothers in the formulation of genuine families based on the Christian values. It strives to nurture and enhances the innate wealth of talents and potential within each mother. In this modern and progressive society, it ensures the participation of mothers in establishing and strengthening the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. MathruJyothi was started in the year 2010 in our Parish. Mathruvedi members have contributed immensely to all church activities and programmes.
Members actively participate in the Liturgical activities during the Holy Qurbana. Prayer meetings are conducted every month. We organize seminars for the mothers of our parish, wherein topics relevant to Parenting, Marital spirituality, spiritual empowerment of mothers, stress management, etc are covered. Members extend their support to other ministries whenever they organize activities. Annual picnics and get-togethers are organized, which promotes more bonding among members and offer a relaxed atmosphere. Mathruvedi organizes various charitable activities for orphanages, old age homes, HIV rehabilitation centers, Cancer Hospitals, etc . During Feasts and Festivals Mathruvedi helps with floral arrangements and decorations and also help in organizing the procession. On important occasions we treat our parishioners with Kerala culinary delicacies and the profit generated from this is used for charity activities.
December 25th Christmas day Mathruvedi members collected the blankets and bed covers, this event named as ”Unnikkoru Pothappu”. All collected items were packed and decided to give it to Kidwai cancer center on 14th Jan 2022. We collected around 123 blankets and 15 bedsheets. Our Animator sister along with few members have visited Kidwai and St. Johns hospital to give the items.
